Flow cytometry for haematological malignancy immunophenotyping and immune monitoring.

The flow cytometry laboratory provides a Haematological Malignancy diagnostic service which includes chronic and acute leukaemias and lymphomas. It also specialises in Minimal Residual Disease monitoring for both chronic and acute malignancies. The repertoire also includes lymphocyte subset monitoring for HIV patients, CD19 enumeration for patients on rituximab, CSF and BM processing, and cytochemistry tests which are Myeloperoxidase, Esterase and Iron stains.

Access to patient results

Results are electronically transmitted to trust affiliated GP surgeries via an electronic link. Any other GPs requiring results will have a copy sent to them if an address is provided on the request form. Results for patients seen in outpatient clinics can be requested by phoning the labotatory and asking for a copy of the results to be sent via post.
