Our new Electronic Health Record System (EHRS) – and what it means for GPs

On 31 March 2019, UCLH will be switching on a new electronic patient record system (EHRS) called Epic. This will replace paper notes and integrate several of our existing systems into one single record.

The new system will utilise DocMan Connect to transfer hospital correspondence to GPs. We are also becoming part of the North London Health Information Exchange over the coming months which will further improve how we share information across north central London.

The system will also include a patient portal, MyCare UCLH, which will give patients access to their clinical information, including discharge summaries and follow up letters.

Please check back here for updates and other useful information, and do tell your patients that they may experience some delays over the coming weeks, as our staff get used to the new ways of working. We are working hard to keep any possible disruption to a minimum; please be assured that patient care is always our top priority.
